(FT1) Crazy rumor: New Olympus fullframe?

Important: I didn’t receive any indication from trusted sources that an Olympus fullframe camera is going to be announced. The following rumor is at 99% false! I report it here because that rumor is creating a lot of “buzz” on the web. So read it just for fun!

The “rumor” has been started by Milsooper on dpreview forum. He says that a new Olympus FF camera is going to be announced soon:

“An Olympus full frame 35 mm body that can use the 4/3 lenses.
A nice weather resistant magnesium alloy frame.
Geotagging.
24.2 megapixel Kodak sensor and processors.
ProcessorS.
OM lens support.
Two new features yet to be revealed.”

Apple tonight hit a milestone quickly as it reached over one million users of Ping within the first 48 hours of its going online. The tally represents a third of the three million that have downloaded iTunes 10. As you already know Panasonic will launch the new 3D lens for MicroFourThirds cameras. Quesabesde had the chance to hold one of those lenses (Click here to read the google english translation).

Here a short list of the most interesting parts of the text:

- “The lens simulates the vision of both the left and right eye, so it is possible to form a three dimensional image using a single sensor“

- “We tested the lens on the Lumix DMC-G2 and it has been possible to verify that the camera body automatically detects the presence of the 3D lens.”

- “The resulting files do have a size of 904 x 1600 pixels. In addition to the 3D file extension MPO, the camera also stores a JPEG image that displays the picture “normal” on the camera screen.“

- “It also seems unlikely that this modality 3D is compatible with Micro Four Thirds cameras from Olympus“

Ringtone creation disappears from iTunes 10

The option of buying and creating ringtones has been removed from iTunes 10, users note. Under the software's View Options menu, the earlier "Ringtone" column has vanished; this previously let people know if it was possible to turn tracks from the iTunes Store into ringtones for an extra 99 cents. Throughout the rest of the program, the only references to ringtones include information on syncing and the Ringtones tab under the Library....

The Lego Statue of Liberty Sculpture Set is an impressive piece of Lego architecture that you can build yourself. Just 80 easy steps and you’ve completed the 2882 piece, nearly 3 foot tall statue. Look at this young lad hard at work on his Lady Liberty Lego:

The impressive (and slightly difficult) part about putting together this kit is that save for the torch, the rest of the pieces ARE ALL THE SAME COLOR. Although maybe that makes it easier since you only have to sort your pieces by shape and not by color and shape before you put it together. The finished product is pretty impressive, can’t deny that, I mean you’re getting a Statue of Liberty made entirely of Lego but the set is perhaps a bit too pricey for my tastes.

Nikon president hints again at mini pro camera

He told Reuters the company wanted a camera "different from SLRs and compacts" and hoped to create a new category. Samsung hopes to crack 10% smartphone share, sell 25m units

If you tend to have a lot of broken lightbulbs around your house or business you know that they are dangerous and a pain in the tush to remove. Maybe you live on a golf course, next to a baseball bat testing facility, in an area with frequent drive-bys, or in a house on a farm that is hit by a tornado which uplifts your house and makes it land on top of a witch while Pink Floyd’s Money plays in the background.

I don’t know why you have one or many broken bulbs but you’ve got a problem and the EaseOut Bulb Remover makes it simple to remove those pesky broken bulbs. Ping under fire from spammers, says security firm

Despite being active for just a few days, Apple's Ping social network is already being invaded by spammers, says a Sophos security analyst. Some profiles, such as Katy Perry's, are reportedly being flooded with messages, often from scammers promising free Apple gear. The results are anything but happy.
